I have always wanted a treadle and now I have a chance to own one. It is a Singer made in 1926. It has been cleaned up and has a new belt. Runs great! Here's the deal. I have to trade my 1947 New Home plus $100.00 for it. The silly thing is I want this particular treadle because it was made in the same year my mom was born and she just passed away last week. Is that a silly reason to buy something...so sentimental! Is the machine worth it...that's my question! Your thoughts please! Thank you...

It isn't a silly thing to want a machine. And I totally understand your reason for wanting one that was the same age as your mom. I've been trying to find a FW from my birth year. But, the price on this one seems pretty high to me. Of course, machines are way more expensive in some areas than what I've seen them for around here. But no price is too much if it's what you want and it's available.

I understand your reasons for wanting it and machines are not cheap in Texas but be sure that you can live without your New Home. That might be true if you've a collection and can spare the New Home.
I just rehomed 5 of my machines which didn't even dent the supply but it made DH and the recipients happy so I am happy too with my decision.

Has anyone heard from Miriam lately. I haven't seen any posts from her and she's usually on here every day. I hope she's okay and just too busy to sit on the 'puter all day. Miss you, Miriam.
