May I come in and sit a spell? I take my coffee lite w/ cream and suger. I will supply the coffee cake or the cobblers.

I don't have any of the Singer or other vintage machines of my dreams. As stated before, I am after a FW from 1955 and want a treadle from around the 1910 to 1920.

I have my mom's 1963 Singer 603A slant top.

Have my eye on a Franklin at the thrift store. It comes in a cabinet that will need some work. She wants $125 for it which I think is way too much for the condition it is in. It belonged to her aunt and so it has sentimental value. It's ok tho 'cuz I can't afford it anyway. Trying to watch my pennies for school tuition.

The watch allows me to get responses in the email, bookmark allows me to save it in the website's bookmarks, which I can access under the link at the top right hand of the screen called "My Bookmarks"

I am so glad you started this. Maybe you can help with a treadle that has been sitting here for a couple of years. I did go to a yahoo group but no one answered my question.
what I have is a Singer/New Family Model 12 dated 1876.
I did get that off the Singer dating site.
The pedal freezes up on me after it moves back and forth a few times. The machine moves fine and the pedal moves fine until I put the belt on. The the pedal will move back and forth maybe 3 times and freeze. I am sure it is the operator but I don't know what to do.
As much as I would love to have a treadle I would rather use the room for one of my other machines that I can actually work.
So if anyone can give me any hints I will take them. If not she will be up for sale. Living with my daughter I have very limited space. My sewing stuff isn't allowed in the rest of the house. Just my room and the little office space. I have a Kenmore 48 I would much rather put up in the cabinet in this space.

I just love the Redeye machines they are so pretty. But the ones with the sphinx is gorgeous. We just don't make things pretty anymore. I love my new Brother and wouldn't give it up but its not pretty. lol

Billy, what a great idea. I will be looking forward to this shop each morning. I drink tea though.

I will try to post pictures later today. My sweet hubby drove me 3.5 hours north of our place to purchase a Featherweight. We went back 2 days later to get some specialty wood at the same home and I purchased 2 handcranks. One is a Jones Hand Machine as presented to HRH the Princess of Whales and the other is a Collier's No. 4. I found quite a bit of history on the Jones but am having trouble locating info on the Collier's. Found info on the Collier's No. 3. I just want more and haven't figured out exactly where else to go.

My DH is planning to make a wooden case and stand for each one of them. I love it that my hubby enjoys this new adventure in collecting. The history one finds is terrific.

Okay I finally got the GoJo. I hope it is the right stuff. It is the original creme formula and it does not state Pumice anywhere on the jar. I also bought WD40 so now I have to hurry up and get this house ready for my SIL to move in with us (big sigh) and then I can fix up my Redeye! Saying I am anxious doesn't do it justice....LOL!
