Default What needle fits New Royal treadle machine?

I was blessed this Saturday with finding a New Royal model 12 treadle machine at a yard sale for only twenty bucks. The machine was rusted fast and nothing would move but a can of WD40 later and things are moving. The cabinet is in really good condition and just needs a little restoring. Am working on the restoration of the machine itself. I am wondering if anyone knows what needle will fit this machine. Cannot find out much about it on the web. Am looking forward to finishing my restoration and actually using this new baby of mine. Would appreciate any help I can get. Will post pictures later. Thanks and blessings to all, Gragra.

The Mr. Needlebar Needle Book shows the New Royal as being made by St. John/ Royal/ Free Sewing Machine Co.
It lists two different needles a 15X1 and a 20X1. If you don't have a 20X1 and the 15X1 won't pick up stitches, try the scooting the 15X1 down in the needlebar slightly. The only difference between the two needles is the length.

Good luck and please post pictures soon.

Thank you so much for the information. Machine out of cabinet and in pieces on my work table right now being restored. When all is done will post pics then. Am just thrilled to have this old lady. Have wanted a treadle for years. I think she and I were meant to be together.
