I never think cutting off discussion is good..that's why I'm a lawyer and not a Judge. They are really good at cutting off when they've had enough!

Okay, let's see how we can all make this work. That's the goal. Keep the big picture at the top of your minds and we shall prevail...we shall persevere, because this is something we all want to happen!! Right?????/

...and all this from a lady who, from what I have read, has never made the DJ quilt herself.
Smart businesswomen is right!
Now we wait.

Guess we have to live with em since we have to share the same planet. ;)

English paper piecing...I've been wanting to learn that technique for quite awhile. I have some precut hexagons cut by my daughters' great-grandmother that she never finished. They are very large and I thought I could make each one into two smaller hexigons so that I can make a small quilt for each girl; a sort of multi-generational heirloom for them to pass down to their children. I bet there are plenty of tutes out there, but I tend to learn better by watching someone in person so I think I'm going to bug a few friends, watch the tutes, then make the attempt. I wasn't sure I was going to learn any new techniques with this quilt and yet, here we are in week 2 and here is a technique I need to learn. Well, teach me to be so cocky with myself!

I love my hexagon project.... it will be several years before I finish it, but I find it really relaxing just sitting and sewing them all together. I take it with me when I want to have some hand sewing to do, but don't want to have to concentrate, I can happily carry on a conversation while doing them.

Ages ago I bought a couple of tube rolls of batiks... I picked a size of hexagon so I could get 4 out of one square of batik. And in each tube there's 80 squares of 40 different shades. All up I think I have 6 or 7 tubes. That adds up to a LOT of hexagons. LOL

What I'm doing is just putting the shades together, so the colour will shift randomly across the quilt.... the reds will fade into purples and blues, across into greens and yellows.... it will be random but with a bit of a plan. If that makes sense!

:-)

This is an old picture, it's a bit bigger now.
