RJ - love the patriotic theme. I have that print as well, just don't know what I'll do with it yet. there was also a light blue when I bought mine so have both.

oh, I agree with Mom-6, everyone's fabrics are so colorful and beautiful. mine seem rather dull now but I'm using odd pieces up, not totally scrappy but not using whole yardage, either.

Yay! I have finished my squares! I haven't built up a stash yet since I haven't been quilting long. I guess this would be considered very controlled scrappy. I am also waiting to see what the finished quilt looks like... I may make more than 12 blocks.

[QUOTE=baronreads;7111856]I can't decide whether to make the triangles super random or at least "coordinated" random. My triangles are true scraps from my MIL fabric I inherited. Most are not anything I'd ever buy. I may wait for the next clue to sew the last seam together, unless Judy wants to weigh in.]

Silent as a cat over here.

Well, I did decide to redo my blocks and try to get more contrast with the HSTs. I hope these will work, I see 2 that think I will get rid of, the orange and the pink/mauve. I really do need to work on color value. Mine are controlled scrappy as I have a hard time giving up control. LOL

GramQ - Did you try laying this out with the light portion of the HST toward the dark of the 4-patch? The blocks might stand out a bit more. And like your new colors

Here's mine. I don't think I've got enough contrast, but I found a small pile of civil war-type scraps I want to use up, plus my DH and I have been in bed for almost 2-1/2 days straight with food poisoning, so ... "it is what it is" ... as they say. I'll make another one later on if these colors turn out to be a flop.
