All of the blocks that have been posted are wonderful. They inspire me to get back in the saddle again. I have to bind a lap quilt I'm gifting to my step DDIL who had surgery last week so i can get it to her today. I'll post a picture of it later.

I just finished putting on my binding using this method and I've never done it faster or easier. Thought you all might be interested. I'm continually thankful for all of the things I learn from people on this board!
There is a tutorial www.aliciasattic.com Marci Baker shows this method.

Here's what has been keeping me busy. It's my first successful attempt at QAYG and I'm hooked. I have a couple of lap quilts I'll be completing for my DGD's this next month for their birthdays. Jan, my list of projects never seems to get any shorter. I now have started one from a class project for my step DGS...maybe for the holidays.

Glad you showed a close up of the quilt, GGal. The subtle shading in the border is pieced. Very nice. The strong diagonal stitching reinforces the strong diagonal piecing in the quilt's center. Very pretty indeed.

Ggal, great quilt. When you do QAYG, do you quilt your borders separately, too, then attach them? That's how I did FWS borders and I had a hard time matching the corners; the quilting made them a little smaller. Yours look perfect so I'm curious how you did them.

Short story, I made all of the border strips longer and measured them after quilting like I would if I were assembling in a traditional way.
