For reducing bulk I am pressing my seams open. I use a very small stitch when paper piecing, 2.0 on my Viking, so that it is secure and tears easily. I am using Carol Doak (sp) paper I ordered online for another project. I'm going to need more though. What is the vellum like? The paper I have is pretty thin and tears easily, not in a bad way.

i always worry about recommending products - just because i like it doesn't mean it works for everyone else. i remember the first time i used it - i knew i would never use anything else again. i got 2 reams in the mail yesterday - no tax no shipping - can't beat that. |
Okay Okie, pm me with your addy again...thanks!!
PS, I swore after reading The Grapes of Wrath that I would never refer to a person from OK as an Okie again...now look you are corrupting me!! |

the paper is actually called Neenah Paper UV/Ultra II 17 Weight in Radiant White. the paper tears away with total ease and i like that you can see thru the paper. here's a link so you can see how translucent the paper is http://webstore.quiltropolis.net/sto...3&Item_ID=1087 its much cheaper to buy it by the ream then it is to order it from the above link. |

Well, the term was really derogatory used for the very poor folks that came out to CA during the drought, in the 20's. Reading about Tom Joad, I decided they deserved way more respect that to be called names...what hardships they endured, and what discrimination and degradation they went thru living here in the valley in CA. Very sad story. So, I don't like using the term...

I think maybe it would help if I traced the patterns on thinner paper. My paper won't run the thin stuff through. I ordered the cd from Connecting Threads and it should be here soon. Hope it works on a Mac. Haven't given up yet. Don't let it be my age - Ha!
