Love the colors in that block, Lesley. As always, your scrolls are fabulous. And I love the extra embroidery you did.

Here is my #1. I need to add some more embroidery somewhere. This block needs something.

Butterflyspain 05-04-2011 10:39 PM

Nice scrolls everyone, there is a lot on this block. think a few deep breaths are needed before I do this one. I am working on 25, just chose it at randome

Lacelady 05-05-2011 01:14 AM

My extra embroidery was partly because that purple is inclined to disappear into the black, and I thought it needed a little more something.

sandpat 05-05-2011 06:56 AM

Judy, yours is pretty too...I might copy Lesley's extra bit of embroidery on mine..I agree..it needs just a little something extra.

ann clare 06-09-2011 02:00 PM

Both blocks are beautiful

sandpat 06-29-2011 04:35 PM

Well, its getting time for me to start this one. Thank goodness I'm doing it 10"...dreaded scrolls!

Butterflyspain 06-29-2011 11:04 PM

I think Patti you will find it a whole lot easier doing the scrolls on a 10" block, good luck I have not got to that one yet.

sandpat 06-30-2011 05:26 AM

I started this one last night and did my 1st larger scroll....ahhhhhh....a breeze compared to the smaller ones!! What was I thinking to do those smaller blocks??

I couldn't understand it either, especially as you wanted a larger quilt. I have a feeling it was because you wanted a rectangular one rather than a square? But then you could have had that with just a few extra blocks, just as you have already designed.

missgigglewings 07-01-2011 05:15 PM

On another thread someone told me I should see this thread! I have no idea who that enabler was but I just ordered the book! Now I am shopping my stash for fabric. I have looked at all the beautiful work here and I am so anxious to get started. In about 2 weeks I am to start babysetting a 3 week old, adopted newborn. This is what I will do while I set and rock in the nursery!

sandpat 07-01-2011 05:16 PM

Ah yes, but you see....I wanted it on point and didn't want the on point blocks to be any larger or the center section would have hung over the edges of the top part of my mattress.

So....really, I do listen, I just hear a different drummer! LOL!

Deecee 07-01-2011 09:31 PM

Welcome MissGW. Good to know there is someone further behind me.

Butterflyspain 07-01-2011 10:28 PM

Welcome Gigglewigs and its great to know you are going to sew along with us.
Elle

sandpat 07-02-2011 04:16 AM

Yippee Miss G! You and I were posting at the same time and I didn't see you...oops...But, come on and join the fun, these little blocks are addicting!

Butterflyspain 07-02-2011 05:41 AM

Giggle, go to the bottom of this page, or any page and click on Topic List. this will bring all the topics up on AOTH. You will find our Schedule in the Affairs of the Heart Cyber Sew page 1. Each block has its own page.

slowly, but surely...think I solved the sinus mystery!

Deecee 07-03-2011 02:47 PM

Any health mystery solved has to be a good thing, Mousie.

yes, since doc was going to refer me to a specialist this week.
Either the antibiotic worked, OR...when a pkg. says...and I don't know that it does...DO NOT CUT THIS PILL, IT'S TIME RELEASED...then don't do it.
I suspect that when my allergy medicine went "over the counter", and I am not able to find the right dose, I spent a hunk of money on a couple boxes, bc dh takes it too, and thought, ok...I'll cut them in thirds to save money!
What a blunderheaded idea that was!...but, hey! I had no idea that would happen to this mouse!
the jams I manage to get meece-self into!

Deecee 07-03-2011 10:52 PM

Well Mousie obviously that wasn't the correct thing to do with your meds.

Perhaps the thought of a specialist visit helped to do the trick.

Mousie 07-04-2011 05:26 PM

 that and talking to DD about her taking something for her allergies, got me to thinking!
So glad she asked! :D

Finally, here is my block #1. Its not perfect..the placement of the orange scrolls isn't right. I'm not sure how that happened, but guess what.....I'm NOT redoing it! I also had to copy Lesley and add the extra bling. It served 2 purposes...added some more bling AND covered up some innies! The innies were pretty good, but in case of raveling...this covered it! Good idea Lesley!

*Editted~ Darn, I should press these blocks, they would look so much better

Butterflyspain 07-07-2011 06:38 AM

Lovelu colours, that orange is gorgeous, You are doing well with those innies they look fine to me

Mousie 07-07-2011 06:52 AM

mmm- good, patti! :-D

Lacelady 07-07-2011 08:07 AM

Looks good to me Patti - and as for the scrolls, not enough of a problem to redo - especially as it will be hanging down the side of the bed anyway! LOL.

Deecee 07-07-2011 12:55 PM

The extra embroidery just finishes off an already super block.

sandpat 07-07-2011 05:08 PM

Now that makes me feel better Lesley! I keep trying to judge the blocks when I'm looking straight at them! Wrong...they will be hanging down!! I keep forgetting, thanks for the reminder!

Thanks Mousie and Dee!
