The FWS Pony Club Quilt-Along 46- 60 Block Completed Milestone Photo page

Hi Everyone, I know there are a few of you that are up to date with completed blocks so give yourself a pat on the back and show us what they look like all together...H.

Looking forward to seeing them; just got my on the vertical display board and working on setting them together or starting to do that....then I will post...at the correct time on the site here.

I'll go first. PLEASE tell me what colors I'm lacking (the colors on the monitor are just a little duller than IRL). The white you see between the blocks is batting-they're all quilted except the last 4. (No, I'm not an over-achiever--blame it on insomnia). Spotted dog paws in upper right corner will not be in final quilt. Be brutally honest PLEASE!!

Jan--WOW!!!! Your blocks look amazing all laid out!!! If I had to choose a color, maybe more yellow??

JanR...how nice your blocks look together. When I first saw your blocks my eyes were drawn to the two bright blue blocks in row s4 & 5. Looking closer there are a couple more blocks that have a brighter tone with the pinks. Maybe more brights in the mix would help the few you have blend in more and give more balance. You seem to have the color wheel covered otherwise.

I don't know if I can show all of mine in one shot but will give it a try. I agree, Jan, that this will be a large quilt. I'm also thinking of doing two. There are several blocks that just beg to be set on point, too. I have fabric that I can use for setting squares that compliment the sashing I'm using, too. I like what Anael has been doing with her blocks.

I couldn't get all 60 blocks on my design wall so I'll post separate pictures

critique welcome. I am planning to make several quilts out of these blocks. I like what Anael is doing and some of the blocks are just begging to be set on point. I have fabric that picks up the color of the sashing I'm using and got bumped from it's original project a year ago and needs to to move on. I'm planning to do QAYG like Jan does. I'm learning so much from the thread in the challenge section that I have a lot more confidence to do it. What I'm finding though is that I still like piecing better. Probably because that skill is improving and getting better results as I go along. I can't begin to tell you all how much belonging to this group has helped me and how much I've learned. You all keep me going!!! Thanks so much.

Ggal, those look great together. Not the dog's lunch at all LOL!!! You have a nice balance of colors and I love how your sashing and cornerstones pull everything together.
I like doing mine QAYG. It's the only way I'll finish it. I do mine differentlly. I'm quilting all the blocks with batting then I'll sew them together and add the backing as one large piece. The only quilting that will show on the back is when I quilt the sashing and cornerstones. It makes for a really blah back of the quilt but no one sees that usually. I didn't want to do all the hand sewing between the sashing and blocks that most people do with QAYG. I have a little neuropathy in my fingers and have trouble holding on to the needle for too long. This works for me--I don't have room in my life for the quilt police LOL.

Jan, you might want to investigate Jenniky's tut under the orphan block challenge. She does everything by machine. Her instructions are very clear and she welcomes questions. BTW...thanks for your kind comments.

Oh those are looking great gals! I have got to get going on mine again, but like Anne, I cannot keep away from the Olympics. Just love watching all the events!

Ggal--WOW to you too!! The sashing added to your blocks just finishes them so nicely.

I too am going to put some of the blocks on point in one of my quilts. I could probably make 3 quilts, but have decided instead to make 2 plus some throw pillows and a runner for my cedar chest.
