I am doing Y seams!!!! I watched the tutorial at Jinny Beyer's website, watched it twice- and I am doing Y seams! I am doing a happy dance! Wasn't sure about this months block, but now I am.

Is not it great when you get the hang of something and it opens doors for you to do so many more fun things with your fabrics.

I really like these two... the black and white plays well in these blocks. Good job!

This is my second finished block of the month. I tried paper piecing on the heart. Not too bad. I tried the January one and it took so much effort that I only did one section but I found that I had learned some about y seams. I have only been quilting a few months. I will add this to the other 25 squares that I have already done to practice different techniques. I would make a sampler quilt but it would be so ugly! Each one has different colors and they just don't seem to go together. But I have been having a great time learning the different techniques. I might graduate to a lap robe one of these days.

Sparkling Lake...........Your March 2013 BOM block has turned out wonderful. The color's & farbic's you chose to put together are stunning. For only quilting three month's, you are doing a great job. Keep up the good work & we will all be waiting to see your next block, when it's finished!!

Thank you Sulabug. I have been having great time learning. I actually started last fall but I have been like a crazy woman working almost every day trying different patterns. I don't shop much but now I am at fabric shops as often as I can. It is as if a magnet is pulling me there! I have always loved material and now I have a way to use it. Learning to quilt was on my list of things to do after I retired.

You mentioned that you are starting the April block, does this mean you have picked the April block out? Now we will have to bug you until it's time to post it the first of April!! Take care of your eye & we will see you when you post next. Good LUCK!!
