"Spike Your English" Block of the Month Quilt-Along
#805
Groovy Pieces it will be wonderful to have you along on another of our super journeys I am almost wishing January was here but then wanting to finish some stuff and start the New Year with fresh projects so better get my butt into gear
Carriem I found your Florentine fabric on line and purchased some or maybe a lot and have decided that I will use that for Sylvia's Bridal Sampler with maybe 6 tone on tones. After making two big quilts with lots of fabric I want one with a bit more structure to it.
Just have to decide what I am going to use for the 50 Stars quilt.
Gotta dash DH wants my help and I want to hide out in my sewing room

No one has commented here and its pushed the discussion way down the list. The blocks are all beautiful. I love one the greatest, then the next one pops up and its beautiful and the greatest two...I love how some post the two blocks together and they match so well!
I think I know how I what to do number two block, but back to re-organizing the sewing room again and trying to find the book for the Bernina 550 one more time. Gee, I just checked about the bobbin and put it close to the machine, but its location eludes me... How can I lose things right where I am sitting and never moved from there???
Must be Murphy's Law.

Ladies, I have a question a tad bit off topic . . . but still dealing with QOTS.
When going on the site to print my blocks, I noticed that stunning Dear Jane In The Tropics BOM starting in Jan 2014. Have any of you been involved with a BOM of this magnitude? I love the colors, but the best part - it can be paper pieced ! ! ! !
After calculating the 2 year run, that quilt would cost $647.80 . That is literally the price of my 3 day/4 night retreat, which includes spending money & the Saturday Night Banquet.
Any & all suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance . . . GP

I'll be along for the DJ ride as well. I've got the software and have been playing around with it.
For those of you considering wether or not to buy the software .....
The software is pared down version of Electric Quilt (EQ). By pared down I mean that it will only let you work on the DJ quilt, it will not let you create a new quilt. But you can do everything with the DJ quilt that you can do in regular EQ.
Try out different color schemes
Want to make different layout ... perhaps on point ... you can do that in DJEQ
Print the patterns for PP
Calculate the yardage needed for each of the colors you are using
Don't like the order the blocks are arranged? Move them around
Like the concept but 4" blocks scare you .. make them bigger
You really don't like block B13 ... change it
And more
I've been playing with both color schemes and layouts. Thinking of doing a medallion of DJ blocks in the center, then a bunch of negative space, then a border. Who knows. I keep playing!!!
