I haven't been on the board that long... but to have to ask this question... okay... all the abbreviations... what the heck? dil... daughter in law... got that one. Same with the rest of the in-laws.
dh... designer husband? Is there a place here on the board I can look for these? I might not be the brightest flower in the bouquet, but I can usually figure things out on my own. Most of these really have me stumped. Anyone out there who can help me? It's like trying to read a book with all the names in a foreign language

Try search at the top of the page. I know I have to look them up over and over again.

Sometimes the easiest solutions are overlooked.
Thanks for your help.

Funny.. Yes, we all know how you feel and probably most of us feel the intensity you do about it. Is it really that much trouble to type a complete word?
Anyway, go in the user list at the top of any of our pages. Put in Craftybear. Look at her pages. She has one with all most of the abbreviations listed.
I am bad about skipping over the abbreviations I don't know so I don't get all of the information the poster wanted me to have. Sorry.

I think DH is Dear Hubby but sometimes I'll admit to thinking about other words for the D. Shame on me. Is there a place that you can get designer husbands? How much are they? Do they have a MUTE botton?

WIP--work in Progress
UFO---UnFinished Object
LIW---Lady in Waiting (unquilted tops)
QAYG--quilt as you go, a quilting method
F&D--fun and done, a quilting method
LQS--local quilt shop
SIL--could be son in law or sister in law just have to read for a gender check
dd--darling daughter
gd--granddaughter
gs--grandson
ggd or ggs--are the great grandchildren
any others you want? That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

the ones that drive me nuts are the quilt stores that sell fabric cuts and don't explain what they are. jelly rolls, and all. some I know, but others i dont'. can't shop when i dont have all the facts. you would think sellers would know more info helps buyers spend money.
