Stopped at a barn sale on the way home today on a whim and bought a box of old notions and threads for $2. When I came home and went through it I found lots of items from the late 1800's to early 1900's. Also found a bunch of these G. Reis & Bro. Inc. "cotton foundations" - they are initials I think were used for monogramming. I imagine you sewed the thread over them? I'm not sure. Anyhow they are in an old see through kind of (rice paper maybe?) packaging with very old writing on an insert paper with them. I'm just curious about the company, because I can't find anything on the net on them I wonder if they are out of business. It says New York - no dates, and also "The Initial House".
