My son just got called to his first church in Manilla & from what I have been able to find out (not a heck of a lot) it doesn't sound like there is much there. So if anyone knows anything about it especially if they have a hotel I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!

Just google the town it will come up with the official website, should be good info on there.
By the way I went to school in Fargo, I'm from the Turtle Lake area, north of Bismarck and my claim to fame is my brother was ag commissioner of ND for many years. I now live in central Iowa near Des Moines but I have no idea where Manilla is! Good Luck to him in his new role. :-D

The closest I live is Chicago IL... so I know nothing about the area... The closest I've ever been to Minilla Iowa would be either Monmouth IL or Amboy IL... maybe even Dixon IL... or when I drove through Iowa at one point...
Sorry. Maybe google would be of some assistance.

Manilla is about 30 miles north of interstate 80 - so I haven't been to the town, but travel through the area with great regularity. Nice quiet rural area. Sorry I can't tell you if there is a hotel.
After perusing the website for Manilla, it appears there is no hotel in the town except an old one being renovated for a museum. I'll bet your son's church members have something worked out as far as housing for him. Congratulations on his job!
(Manilla is only 60 miles from Omaha/Council Bluffs. They have great quilt shops, if you want a road trip when you visit your son. )

I am 4 hrs away. I looked it up on Wikipedia and then I looked it up on Google Earth. It is a free download and you can look up any town anywhere on earth. It gives you an actual picture of various places in that town. You can see cars on the streets and the buildings it is that precise. They are pictures taken by satellite. It's fascinating. My 11 yr old grandson got us hooked on it. He found his cousin's house and you could see my grandson's car in the driveway and my son's motorcycle sitting in the front yard.
