I cry every time I see these videos - We were raised with all kinds of retrievers and they always amazed me at how loving and gentle they are with the little ones and the elderly.

Is it just me?
I see the little boy moving away from a dog.
Pushing paws away. I don't see joy.
Looks like the dog wants to be friendly but the boy is unsure and moves away.
Music is nice and makes you think it's beautiful.
Is it just me?

I thought so at first myself, but I don't believe now that is the correct interpretation. She reaches out for the dog's ears and even mouth and didn't seem to much mind having her foot in his mouth. At this age, probably a bit over 4 months, babies can make their wishes and needs known well, and as the video progresses you can see that.

As the video continues I feel that the baby does not want to put her face on the carpet - perhaps a scratchy synthetic - and that seems to make her a bit anxious and eventually tired from holding her head up at such an angle. The mom was fairly quick to pick up on her cues, a good thing.
