Childhood Games
#61
I grew up playing most of these games, my sister and I used to get an old rain barrel and turn it on its side and then we would get on it while the other one held it still. We would see how long we could stay on it and walk it in the yard, it was ok until we got to a small hill then it wanted to go fast. My sister was always better than me at this game.
My grandson and his friends play hide n seek during the summer at our house now. We live in the country so it is not as bad as the city. He rides his bike at night to a friend's house up the road about 1/2 a mile. There isn't as much crime around here as the big cities.

I'm remembering amny of the games so may of you mentioned. One I didn't see was 'Pump, Pump, Pullaway' - I can't recall exactly HOW it was played, just that it was a popular game at recess in school. I grew up on the farm with 7 other siblings, so we used our imaginations a lot...Cowboys and Indians was always popular...
