Default Day trip to Pike Place.

Just got home from a trip to Pike Place Market in Seattle. I live about 35 miles away. My dh will not take me, because he has been there, why would he need to go again. So I drove myself. He also says I stop in front of him and cut him off very times when we walk places. There is a lovely quilt shop with a great owner. Most of the marketplace construction is finished with great new additional bathrooms and elevators.
It was a nice day. I had a crumpet and jam and a gyro. I brought home mini doughnuts, cookies, bagels, spices, pasta and a grab bag of fabric and a new quilt pattern. The places I usually eat at were very busy, chiwder house and the pirshoky shop. I collected some pressed pennies for a little friend too. As always on the way home, I tell myself, "I should do this more often". There was construction at the waterfront, so driving was a little different but there were no problems or scary moments.

I went to that market when I visited Seattle about 25years ago...I am sure it has changed a bit since then! Had fun watching the workers tossing the fish and such, they put on quite a show. We had seafood packed to take on the plane with us, it did not get off the plane with us. The airport drove about 40 miles one way to get it to us the next day.

Me too!!! Where was it???

Of course, my problem was I was there with the entire family AND my MIL, who kept taking off to see stuff and not telling us where she went. So we'd be looking at something like a window display, then turn to find that she had completely disappeared. Grrrr. She did this 3 or 4 times and we were unable to find her for a couple of hours every time! She kept telling us she thought we were right behind her. I asked her if she had ever bothered looking over her shoulder for us....

Whew, thanks for letting me vent. I love that woman but sometimes she drives me nuts. Now, where IS that quilt shop? Do you remember the name of it?

Sounds like a fun day trip, even if you were alone. Especially bringing goodies home to remember the day!
