Default Does anyone else do this?

During the evening I was putting a work shop together on the lone star. Trying to think of different ways to do it.
Went to bed at 10,, at 3amwoke myself up working out another way of putting the diamonds together.
Do other quilters do this . .?

I learned to problem solve this way when I was in high school. (math problems then) I still do this now, even with quilting.

I learned years ago that the most creative my mind is when I've been asleep for a few hours --- I solve lots of problems when snoozing, especially work-related!

My husband does this all the time....nuts out problems in his sleep...me...nope...get the odd brainwave during the day...usually whilst doing something automatic/boring like washing up or ironing.

I sometimes get an "A Ha" moment in the middle of the night. Unfortunately I usually forget what that perfect idea was by morning.

Yep, and when I do have one of these moments in the middle of the night I have to get up and do it right then. Now let me tell you what I did yesterday. I got up thinking wow I slept a full 5 hours straight! I never do that! When hubby came home I was telling him I didn't get up till 7:20 am. He looked at me odd and said "well you made coffee because when I got up at 5:15 the coffee was still brewing." I don't remember getting up and making coffee. This can be scary, what if someday I decided in my sleep to take off all my cloths and go outside! Good thing we live in the middle of no where!

I get up, and write myself notes, and then go back to sleep.. I wake up, and read my notes, and it works real well.. If I don't, I drive myself nuts trying to remember what I was thinking..
