I am a contract grant writer for a local Head Start. There is lots of good advice offered here already. Just wanted to say be careful. The grant application will have very specific instructions (like one inch margins, font, font size, number of pages, etc.) It's your job to be sure that every i is dotted and every t is crossed. If you don't follow instructions they will throw away your application without even reading it. Good Luck!

Thanks everyone for all of the help. I have contacted a few people and should be given some names soon.

I use to write grants for my classrooms in the past, and have won a few. I am retired now due to my health. You have been given some good advice, and it has to be to the point, convincing, and very detailed with few words.
