Default Mystery writers

A couple of my favourites are J.D. Robb the Eve Dallas series and J. A. Jance the Joanna Bradley series. Strong, smart, capable woman as the main characters. Any others I should try?

If you like quirky sci-fi mystery type stories, Dean Koontz has a new character named Jane Hawk. She's a rogue FBI agent trying to get to the bottom of something. The story(book) has had a few installments already. It's the kind of story that's hard to put down.

Sue Grafton. She has an amazing series starting with A is for Alibi, and just finished with X. She recently passed away, so it is a great loss for the Mystery Writing Genre. LOVED this series.

I ordered The Silent Corner from my library to see how I like it, thanks.

Sue Grafton is one of my favorites. Earlene Fowler writes quilting mysteries. They can be a bit saccahrin but if you like the Joanna Brady series, you'll probably like them. Tess Gerritsen writes the books that the "Rizzoli and Isles" series were based on and I enjoy hers also. Edna Buchanan writes some good Miami based books and Alafair Burke (daughter of James Lee Burke) is turning out to be an excellent writer. Janet Evanovich writes the Stephanie Plum series which is always good for light reading and entertainment. I just can't help but laugh at her characters. Monica Ferris writes needlepoint mysteries and while they are really mind boggling, they are good entertainment and have enough twists and turns to keep you interested.

I could go on, but I don't want to take up too much space with my preferences.

Carolyn Hart aka Carolyn G. Hart is an author I enjoy. Am reading her Death on Demand series. M. C. Beaton writes the Hamish Macbeth mysteries and I've enjoyed them. https://www.cozy-mystery.com is a website with many mysteries.

I loved “The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo” and the others in the series. I also love David Baldacci though his books are not about women.

Sue Grafton just passed away and in her will, she decreed no movies were to be made from her books. She was an excellent writer. I love James Lee Burke. The only thing with all these writers is that it’s best to get a list of their books and start at the first one. I love John Grissom books too.
