I have two of them and they are the best! I have a yellow lab who sheds alot and it does a great job on the dog hair. I have had about four other brands that I can think of and nothing compares to the Dyson. I can't remember exact purchase dates but I think I've had them at least five years and haven't had any problems. I recommend them highly!

Love mine, 4 dogs. Only thing I don't like is that the extension hose is really stiff (not flexible).

I specifically bought my Dyson for dog hair. Works great.

I have one and 5 cats and one dog. My favorite sewing footwear are "the worlds softest socks" and fabric trimmings cling to them like velcro then rubs off in other parts of the house. The Dyson handles it all no problems. I did have to take it in to a service shop last year but at that point it was already 5 years old and has had to pick up a LOT of pet hair and fabric trimmings. Oh and my hair too! I shed just as much as the animals and I have long hair so it does take a toll.

I received one for a gift. It picks up great - but I can't stand the cumbersome way to use the hose. You have to take the handle off the machine and unhook the handle from the hose or use this 18" handle while trying to use the hose - totally miserable.

Ripped up all my carpet except for upstairs and that goes too,as soon as my son gets time to help! I don't miss it at all!lol

I did however research Dyson when I had carpet and it is the one I would have bought had I kept the carpet. A co-worker got one for Christmas and she absolutly loves it.

I have the Dyson animal-love it, it picks up thread, batting lint you name it. It's wonderful. I highly recommend it.
