We had a lady that lived down the street that feed all the feral cats in the neighborhood. We called her the cat lady. I knew they kept the rodent population down and since several of us have fruit trees in our yards you can't help but have rodent visitors. When she passed away they had to tear the house down to the frame. I would love to have a cat or two but my DH is one of those people that has a fear of cats, and my DD is allergic to them.

I have had two feral cats, both are gone due to old age and health problems. They 14 and 15 years old respectively.
One feral cat was scared his whole life. He felt safe around my Husband and I and anyone that came often enough. Neither liked noisy. like home improvements and such. One was terrified of thunder storms his whole life. Even Vet.s don't know much about feral cats.
Mine have all been neutered/spayed and kept inside. Homeless cats are not necessarily feral.
I also hope they teach them to stay away from traffic and feed them regular cat food. I have always heard mice are not good for cats to live on. I doubt they will live very long.
