Default Need letter patterns for fabric applique

Please share a source for free font styles for applique. I want to make a sign of letters on pennants to hang for a cantina party. Letters will be about 6" tall and done as raw edge applique.

Thanks in advance if you can help.

Carolyn

I use my Word program. Find the font I want, increase it in size, and print them off. Then I write/trace over the back side so it can be read when you trace it onto your fusible and it will face the correct direction. Otherwise, you could "google" alphabets and see if you can find what you are looking for.
Good luck,
Susan

I use a child's drawing book which has the alphabet in. Different sizes and fonts.sorry I've had the book years so can't give a title as I've lost cover.

Also, if you have a school supply store they usually have large alphabet letters for teachers to put on bulletin boards. I used some for a Christmas quilt.

Thank you for your suggestions. I've seen applique letters on children's quilts, so i knew there probably had to be an alphabet source.

I made a backdrop quilt for my angel ornament booth with"Angel Blessings" appliqued. My DH found a font assortment and enlarged a script I chose. But we don't remember where, and Word doesn't have quite the style I'm looking for now.

I do have a picture of that backdrop quilt and will try to pull it up and post here soon - after I get the quilted pennants and a tropical theme wall quilt in the mail for my friend's cantina.

Thanks again for your suggestions.

Another source ... $ $tore ... you often find cut out letters that you could then trace around.

Size changes ... remember many of our printers can upsize or downsize to what we want.

I found the mother lode of fonts here, thanks to Crafterwannabe at Voy Craft/Sayings board.

http://www.1001freefonts.com/

I clicked on Groovy and may use Chocolate Bar.

There are lots of possibilities for all kinds of quilt applique projects.

Hi Carolyn-
Pat Sloan has a nice free alphabet. You will need to enlarge it, tho. I am always searching for good letters-would really like to lay my hands on Moda's pieced alphabet that I let pass me by. Oh well.
