We truley hope there are not any more. 20 is 20 too many. Do they have any weather alerts there of this weather front moving into your area ? Most of what leaves here ends up in Arkansas, or Missouri. I hope not because there is a ton of water. 10 plus inches in the city, with more coming in. there has been lots of property damages but as of now , no casulties. they are looking for a man who is missing.
Just saw Oklahoma on the news! All I can say is get a life jacket handy!Originally Posted by grandma Janice
I think these things just happen. I'm not ready to think anything I have done has caused any of this to happen.
I'm feel so sorry for those involved and heard today, because of the remote area, no cell phone reception and such, people could not hear the weather reports that this was coming and with it being night, people were sleeping.
Thanks for all the updates Marsye.
Maryce, I live on the high point of my area, if we get in trouble, everyone will be in trouble, then it will be a good time to build that ark., Hope it gets all rained out before it heads into Arkansas.Originally Posted by marsye
Well did you survive the night? We didn't get much here.

No problem for us, but the poor people who got flooded out Yesterday, most didn't have flood insurance. those who had cars lost will be ok, but the flood insurance for homes are very expensive and most did not have it. We got 5 3/4 inches in our raingauge for one day. but no damage. I'm so glad that didn't get to where you live. I never saw so much water in all my life. It seemed to rain it'self out by the time it got to Arkansas.
A 53 year old woman from Texarkana, her 7 year old granddaughter and her granddaughter's friend, who was camping with them, all three died in the floods. They had their funerals today. I also heard that a woman from Atlanta, TX (my hometown) and a man from the Texarkana area also died. Their funerals are being held this week.
This is just too sad! Can you imagine being the parents of the little girl that was camping with her friend and waking up to the news reports? It's just heartbreaking.
