Default Wisconsin State Fair

The state fair opening day was Thursday. This is the first time we went on Opening Day, but my husband wanted to see the flowers on the first day when they are freshest and he likes to see the Clydesdale horses and they are only here till Sunday. The quilts are hung in the same building as the flowers. They were lovely and it seemed as if there were more this year. Anybody else have plans to go? We will be going back again tomorrow and probably a few more times. If any of you plan on going be sure to stop in the Expo building directly across from the Flower Building and half way back on the left side is the History Museum. There is a great display and also 2 lovely murals newly refurbished. I think the last time they were displayed was in 1948, or it could be that was when they were painted.

Thanks for the info! We've missed it the last few years and I was just thinking about how maybe we should try to go this year!

I think we'll be going Tuesday or Wednesday. Will be sure to check out the quilts, along with the cream puffs!

We went again today. Boy was it hot! I tried the lamb brat. It was quite tasty. Next time we go I am going to have the cherry sunday, again it is in the product building. I also have 2 more tickets for the baked potato. We took friends from Hungrary and their 2 little girls. They all had a great time and were impressed to know that the fair has been going on continuously for over 150 years. They don't have anything like that back home.

No, but I wish I was. I saw the chocolate-covered bacon on TV & boy oh boy! That looked mighty... interesting! I'll be anxious to hear about the quilts...
