    Good morning everyone.

It's almost the middle of July and the schools are putting up signs about registration coming up, meeting teachers, etc. Where has the time gone?

We've been busy building a new deck out back. Everytime dh thinks he is about finished, another idea comes to him. A lot of our early mornings start out with a motorcycle ride down to the beach - often to watch the sunrise. Haven't done much sewing as my sewing room is upstairs and tends to be very warm in the summertime. I did get some plexiglass sheets and make covers for my thimble collection shelves so I can run the a c if I want. It vibrates the wall and the thimbles fall off. Hate to run it though as it makes the electric bill go way up. Sometimes I go up there in the middle of the night when it is cooler. Drug out a bunch of old craft paints, wooden stuff, ceramics,.... Been working on finishing up some painting projects and throwing out things not worth keeping. Have a couple bags of stuff I'm going to see if the art teacher at school wants or else it will go to freecycle or the thrift store.

What are you working on or doing?

    Shirley in AL.

Finishing up a quilt top for my nephew... and I have started a project to create replicas of the Rose Windows. I love the look of stained glass and thought I would experiment with a new canvas, some paint and fabric...

Yesterday my daughter and I went to my LQS and took a class to learn sashiko. I enjoyed the class, the teacher was terrific. Hand sewing, but not like hand quilting- lots of fun. After class we went out to lunch. That is what I did yesterday, today I want to go back to LQS and buy a can of spray basting- I want to try it. Thanks for asking.

Good morning to you. I'm not doing anything as exciting as taking a ride on the beach. No beach around here. Picking up the grandkids and then coming back home to pack up stuff for our vacation. We go to a lake about 2 hours from here. My daughter and her family go along with the 2 kids and the oldest grandson is going this year. He graduated in June and no more football camp to fill his summer. We take some side trips from there-American side of Niagara Falls, Fort Niagara, Waldamer Park and Presque Isle. All under 2 hours from where we stay.

So I guess I got off of the subject. I will spending my day packing up food, clothes and scrapbook supplies to take on our vacation. I have to stop at Pat Catan's for some specific colors of cardstock. My friend is coming over this evening for chit chat while my husband golfs. She says she needs adult conversation after watching her two grandkids all week. So those are the plans.

    Have a good day.

My son helped me make a large ironing board top and now I need to cover it. I'm also busy making a Spring Basket Quilt for my DD. The piecing is done and I am ready to sandwich and quilt it. I am also work on BOM Stitcher's Garden quilt. I love this one. It's fun, really pretty, but time comsuming.

Wednesday mornings I meet a couple friends to kayak on a small lake near me. We have lunch and go home. Its wonderful to relax and talk without interruptions. Otherwise summer is going by fast(I work at a school). I'm planning vacation, watching GD once a week. I'm going to teach dd how to quilt this summer, too. :)

Hi! I am going out for training to be an animal educator for our humane society. I will be going into schools and clubs to talk about the shelter and its functions, as well as humane treatment of pets.

Right now having a cup of java, did some weeding and filled the dishwasher. My day, I hope, will be cleaning my sewing room, if there is any time left I'll clean my guest bedroom.
It is so beautiful I hate to think of staying inside, but my sis is coming Friday so I know I won't get a thing done, maybe just drink a few slushes. Have a nice day everyone.
