Check this out. At work we make them in 9x13 pans instead of layers.

Yes, and as I remember, it was an angel food one, flavored with bits of dried lemon peel which was put in a blender. Lemon juice in the liquid part, and warm lemon jello poured over the finished, warm cake after I'd jabbed a few holes in it with an ice pick. Then when cooled, it was sliced and decorated with whipped cream and a cherry on top with a slice of candied lemon peel curled around the cherry. It was sharp and tart, but you could get by serving much smaller pieces than usual!!

I have a lemon tree in the back yard and love lemons, as you must have guessed.

yes ,for lots of years. Learned from my mother, and she died
25 years ago. you put vanilla pudding on after the jello is poured on the poked cake, and top with cool whip always in 9 x 13 pan.

Oh its been ages, but the one with lemon jello and apricot nectar is divine! Even better served with punch made from lemonade, apricot nectar and ginger ale.
Can you still find apricot nectar in the grocery store???

I sure do. It's so refreshing in the summertime. I've tried all sorts of combinations too...

Yellow cake: cherry jello with chocolate pudding / strawberry jello with pistachio pudding / lime jello with lemon pudding.

Chocolate cake: cherry jello with vanilla pudding

All topped with Cool Whip. Yum.

White cake baked in 9 x 13" pan. Poke holes in cake then pour jello over cake. Use any flavor jello.
Different way is to pour pudding over cake after poking with holes. Use any flavor pudding. Top either cake with cool whip. I use a wooden spoon to poke the holes
