Help! My oven lightbulb broke-off. Any Ideas?
Today I cleaned my oven and the light bulb went out. When I unscrewed the bulb the base stayed in the socket and the glass part came out. I have tried the potato fix, it didn't even loosen the bulb base. Now I have a chunk of potato stuck in the bulb base. Any ideas out there? I'm afraid to make the whole thing worse! Help if you know what to do!!!

Do not do it while it is plugged in I got a shock off the Christmas tree trying to replace a bulb I broke changing it I am afraid the stove may be a worse shock!!

Electricity is not something I fool with myself, I'd call a repairman. If you are going to try, make sure the circuit is turned off. Sometimes because a stove draws a lot of power it has it's own switch. Double check before doing anything by trying to turn on an element. If you are going to try pliers, make sure they are the ones with the rubber coated handles. Yiles, this makes me nervous!

There is a tool, sorta like plyers that fits into the socket, you squese and it fits tight into the socket. (Instead of it squeezing in like a plyer, it spreads outward thus fitting tight inside the broken bulb.) while squeezing, unscrew the broken bulb end. Wala! And yes, make sure there is no electricity present.

I'd make sure the circuit breaker is off to the kitchen/stove area, unplug the stove completely and use a pair of pliers to get the rest out you can twist it out like you normally would I've had that happen to me a couple of months ago. You need to go easy on it or it will just collapse worse. If you don't feel comfortable about repairing an electric product please call a handy man I'd hate to hear you got hurt doing this.
