I washed my son's white jersey with red numbers (which had been washed before) with his new football pants and they are now pink. I never thought the jersey would bleed as it had been washed before and nothing happened.
The football pants are brand new from the league. How do I get the pink out. It says not to bleach them, but should I try that. I tried rewashing with a color catcher--I think they are a little lighter pink. I have a septic tank so I don't use bleach, but I could wash the pants in a bucket with bleach? Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

seems like there is something you can put in the wash that is suppose to absorb colors but I can't remember what it is.
I would try bleach and oxy clean and then wash then several times back to back. ( don't dry them inbetween)
Good Luck

Try soaking in Oxy Clean. If that doesn't work, I'd try adding a little bleach.

rewash again with color catchers, put several in, don't let the pants dry until the color is gone. I got unwanted color out of my sons shirt, took 3 washes and multiple color catchers but it worked

Rit color remover. Follow the package directions and the pink should come right out. You can buy it at Joann's.

If you have a deep sink or 5 gallon bucket. Put a cup of oxyclean in with about 4 cups very hot water. Swish with a long handled spoon till the oxyclean is disolved. Add warm water, enough to cover the pants. Soak the pants for a couple of hours, swishing the pants every 15 min or so. This should get the pink out. I would not use bleach. You may even have to soak them over night. Good luck. Let us know how they turn out. HUGS

Definately! It can turn anything with polyester-which the pants probably have- a weird yellow/green that does not come out. I would check out the rit dye display for the color remover or start out with oxiclean. And talk with some of the other moms, you're probably not the only one that has had this happen

Same happened to me. That pants fabric doesn't like bleach or hot. If the color removers suggested don't work, I would just buy a new pair. You can sometimes find them at other sports apparel places. Good luck.
