In lieu of all the recent posts about people stealing from stores and breaking into cars, I just wanted to tell you all a quick story that happened to me at work today.

I work at Best Buy and happened to be up behind the counter where we do returns. I sometimes do returns to help out, although I'm usually out on the sale's floor.

Anyway, a gentleman came in and approached the counter and I asked how I could help him. He handed me a wireless adapter for his DirectTV box.

Upon inquiring as to whether or not he needed to return it, he told me he had come in the other day to return two of that item. One he had opened and tried on his box, one he had not opened. So he had returned both.

Only when he got home he discovered he had accidentally returned an empty box, leaving the part at home.

Anyway, long story short, he drove all the way back out to our store to return the item to us. I thanked him sincerely, needless to say. In this day and age, it can be rare for someone to fix an honest mistake. Seeing that...well...it just made my day.

So remember, no matter how many people there are out there doing desperate and bad things...there are always the honest ones who brighten your day. :)

You are so right!! Thanks for the reminder. It restores our faith to read something like this :)
There are many good people, unfortunately the bad ones get more attention!

It's really true that there are more nice people than nasty ones - you just have to look a little harder. Why is it so much easier to dwell on mistakes and bad things that to be grateful for the good?

I was in Costco recently, returning something. A customer came to the counter to turn in $80.00 CASH that she found in the parking lot.
That made my day.
