I have been collecting turtles since my soon -to-be husband gave me a real live one while we were dating. Of course it didn't make it because we didn't know how to care for it during the winter. George, the turtle's name, was cremated in a noxema box for his trip to turtle heaven. My roommate felt bad so she got me a small ceramic one and then a turtle cookie jar for our wedding. We have been married 36 years and like they say "the rest is history". I don't know how many I have. They are of all types, ceramic, glass, jewelry, paintings, pictures, and of course quilts. (grin).

Just curious.

It's funny how you start collecting things. I used to collect camels. My sister collected penguins for a while.

Sadly, I also "collect" turtles. In high school and college my nickname was Turtle (and Tortuga by a little spanish girl). Oh, who am I kidding, I am still called Turtle. My neices and nephews used to call me Auntie Turtle. So, of course, everybody and thier dog started buying them for me. I tried to stop, but even my Dad religiously gives me at least one a year. Just got a package in the mail from him last week with two!
Mine are all safely packed away so I am not sure how many I have anymore. :)

You had to ask! I love turtles. Not figurines, but real ones. We keep turtles and tortoises as pets and I have received many turtles from people who can not keep theirs and find them new homes. Right now I have 10 turtles of 7 different species, some aquatics and some land tortoises. I just love them.

I am obsessed!

I have more stuffed turtles than I can count - they all live on a huge shelf in my classroom.

I've had a total of 4 pet turtles.

I have 3 turtle tattoos.

It's my own personal slice of happy!

Believe it or not, but our tax accountant is the owner of a turtle rescue!! In her office she has 2 tanks of turtles that she is fostering. They are very cute!! In two of the other offices, she has tanks also. She has more at home too!! She loves her turtles!

My husband has about 18 turtles/lizzards/frogs on his computer terminal at work, most aboug 1-2" diameter, all styles, all varieties, all colors.

I had a live turtle as a teenager that I kept alive for about 3 years - he lived in the raspberry patch in the summer and in the dirt cellar in the winter. He was about 6" big.
