I Am Having So Much Fun Because of Facebook!
I went to a very small, all girl Catholic school....it wasn't a wealthy school, but a poor school, that was racially mixed, unusual back then. It closed three years after I graduated in 1970. Because of the size, only 60 in my graduating class, we all knew each other. With it being a religious school that of course was part of our learning. The the nuns and priests we had were involved in civil rights and pretty much taught us all to care for those less fortunate. It was a very special school. The church is still there and is well known for it's community support.
My sister ended up working with one of girls from my class. I found her name on my sister's friends on Facebook. So I connected with her. Then I saw another girl's name on her list and connected with her. She had started a private group on Facebook for our class and now there are 13 of us in the group. This has been so much fun! I don't think there was anyone in my class that I didn't like. We're talking about a reunion some time late May, early June.

Facebook, youtube and computers have really connected the world. I just saw a story this week about 2 girls that reconnected after the one saw the other on youtube. They were South Korean twin girls adopted to 2 different countries, one in the US and one in France.

I went to a big suburban high school. Facebook has gotten a lot of us together who didn't really have a chance to get to know each other in high school (35 years ago!) and now we have a nice community of people online.

facebook has it's good points and then there is always a jerk trying to be funny or revengefull (is that even a word?). but for the most part I like it and being able to connect with family that are spread out to the four corners of the earth!

I'm on Facebook and was able to find and connect to people I needed to get in touch with. I've sent messages to different people that not necessarily to connect and be on their friends wall/page but just to keep in touch. Just has been helpful in many ways. By sharing posts, many abducted children have been found and the abductors.

My sister found our long lost nephew on Facebook. When my sons were8 and 12 my sister-in-law brought her son to see my mother before going to Orlando to go to Disney World so she said. But what she did was take her son to the airport and got on a plane to Japan with him and left the country. My brother did not know where she went or where his son was. For over 10 years we did not know where he was. My mother went to her grave not knowing where her grandson was. My sister saw my nephews name on Facebook and sent him a message asking him certain questions and if he answered yes to them , she was his aunt. He sent a message back with all the questions answered yes. So we got in touch with him and told him we never stopped looking for him. He had a whole family of aunts and uncles and cousins that wanted to get to know him. Facebook is good for a lot of things but it is great for reconnecting long lost family members.
