My Pastor's birthday is coming up September 14th and I want to embroider him a T-Shirt.
He has 2 favorite Bible verses and a favorite song.
I was thinking left breast.
I also thought the back with full Bible verse or song chorus with his title and name with church name on front left breast.
I can't decide what would be best but no I wouldn't do all 3 things, just one.
So what do you think? What would you like if it were your shirt?

The song is: Under His Wings

Under His wings I am safely abiding,
Though the night deepens and tempests are wild,
Still I can trust Him; I know He will keep me,
He has redeemed me, and I am His child.

Refrain

Under His wings, under His wings,
Who from His love can sever?
Under His wings my soul shall abide,
Safely abide forever.

Under His wings, what a refuge in sorrow!
How the heart yearningly turns to His rest!
Often when earth has no balm for my healing,
There I find comfort, and there I am blessed.

Refrain

Under His wings, oh, what precious enjoyment!
There will I hide till life's trials are o'er;
Sheltered, protected, no evil can harm me,
Resting in Jesus, I'm safe evermore.

Bible verse one: Psalm 16:11

You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Bible verse two: Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live,
but Christ who lives in me.
And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

On the left breast Psalm 16:11 Nothing else. When someone asks him what it is, that will open a conversation for him that he can run with. Too much embroidered on a shirt looks like someone went to a rock concert and bought him a shirt. Not classy for a preacher. IMHO

I agree totally...it will be a conversation starter.

I have to say...I agree with both ideas.

I could make him more than one shirt also.
The other shirt being a verse of my choosing.
I would choose one that has to do with being saved.

Opening a conversation would be a great way to start.

I could also embroider the entire verse on a piece of fabric and quilt it for him or even do his song.

Of course Christmas is coming up too.

Thank you ladies! You have given me a couple of great ideas!~
I will be sure to post a picture of the finished product(s) when I finish!

The number of the verse - and then you could have little cards printed up for him to carry in his pocket and hand out to those that inquire about it!

I agree with too much being too much.

I LOVE bearisgray's idea. You can have business cards printed up SO cheap. That would be great-you could have the full verse on the card, and the church info on the back. I think Vistaprint(?) is the one I used last time. Really inexpensive, and I rec'd within a week or so.

I like the Galatians verse better myself, but that's just me.

Here is another thought.
I had a crazy idea for a small lap quilt for the church.
It would have as center block with something embroidered on it. Maybe the church name and the Pastor's name.
The leave several areas with plain fabric that all of the church members can sign it as they become members.
That would be more for Christmas though. Crazy idea I know....
