I use my Babylock the most but the Vikings are good competitors for Babylock. They are great. Check you tube videos, check Vikings website and see if they have some. I've learned a lot from them. You can use just about any serger thread and one of my favorite threads to put thru the loopers is Wooly nylon, its thicker and really gives a decorative look. You tube should help and also google your machine, there are usually groups for what ever machines that are out there, even when they are old machines. Congratulations on your great find

Congratulations! tell the hubs you got a great deal. I saw one at the thrift store and they wanted $123.99. Not as nice as what you have.

Congratulations. I am waiting to find my heart in the quilting machine category. I really want one but cannot (yet) justify getting one. I have a bunch of quilts that need quilting so I will see what happens this year. I am just afraid that I will mess it up and so I haven't dived in yet. Soon, soon.

Madamekelly, I had a similar experience a few weeks ago. Went to a garage sale and bought a Huskvarna Serger. Paid $65 for it and it included 10 huge thread cones. I too have wanted one for a long time. The gal I bought it from said she used it for five minutes when the sales lady showed her how to use it. I found a receipt in the box but it was so faded I could hardly read it but the date was sometime in 1991. But the machine looks brand new.

Lucky find! I'll bet you'll get a lot of use out of it. For starters you can use it to keep all your new fabrics from fraying in the pre-wash. Youtube has a long list of videos with people demonstrating Husqvarna Viking sergers and showing some nifty things that can be done with them. The manufacturer's website may be a great resource also. Enjoy!

If you will Google 'Husqvarner serger manual' you will find several sites you can print the book free. Might give it a try.

If you can find me one, I can get started even faster. I tried and the ten dollar one was the only one I found. Thanks.
