Default Just keep quilting, just keep quilting...

My 11 year old daughter said she wanted a heavily quilted quilt - well she is getting it, but not until she is getting married! I've completed hand quilting 61 blocks (out of 99 total blocks), 2/3 of the inner border, and 2/3 of the outer border. It is taking forever but I am not starting another project until this one is done. Just wanted to share the partially complete quilt. It is a snowball/9 square pattern. The backing is sage green. The entire double sized quilt is glue basted.

Oh my gosh - you are doing that by hand?? I hope your daughter sees how much you love her to do this. It's beautiful but looks like so much work.

You go, ma'am. That would take me until she was a grandmother and possibly a great grandmother. A hand quilter told me the other day that she doesn't like quilting through the spray basting. Do you find a lot of pull or drag on the needle?

I use Elmer's washable school glue and dry heat set it. There is no drag or anything. Sometimes I have to go through a little thickness of glue, but it isn't as bad as going through seams. I stab stick so that makes a difference for me.

Yes - all hand quilted. I've gone through 1.5 spools of thread so far.
