Yeah I was thinking the jealousy thing.

She has had back surgery twice this past 2 years, she is not able to do much anymore, she was a nurse, and now disabled to a point,

thanks Japonica,

and yes this board is great! Wouldn't change it for anything.

So on to building my stash!

I had a motto in my classroom that said "Putting someone down means You are feeling lower." We used to discuss that needing someone to feel lower than you felt was the reason for so much misery. Maybe she is jealous of your talent. Or maybe she doesn't have something interesting to spend her money on, or money to spend on anything.Could you involve her in some way...let her find colors that co-ordinate, or ask her choice of patterns. If she felt better about herself maybe she wouldn't hurt you.

Mary,
I would agree with isnthatodd, she has no right questioning what you spend your money on. In the medical field, there are many people who recieve state assistance come in with fancy cell phones, newly maincured nails, new purses every time I see them, etc. So you have every right to spend some money on fabric!
I guess someone isn't getting a quilt as a gift anytime soon ;)

here is my "excuse" , trying to get her out of the house, get her more involved with sewing or whatever. with her surgery, she has gotten depressed as well, and with these outings thought it would do her good too.I live 1 1/2 hours away from them, for the past 2 years I have gone back and forth to up lift her, and help mu bro and her many times.

And the fabric in Clinton is cheaper as well.
Thanks Feline fanatic. and Jo Belmont, they borrow money , they do not help me with finances.from me! pay back is a long time waiting.

this board is fantastic, I tell you! already answers to my problem!! thanks!!

Maybe it is 'gosh you are right' then pick out the fabric you want and buy it.

I have a friend that told me she couldn't afford quilt shop fabric when I would tell her what my current project was.
I finllay told her that I don't go on cruises. (like she does) I haven't heard her make that can't afford comment again.

I agree with the other post here & as long as your bills are paid, food is fine,& all things good, it does not hurt to splurge ( if you want call it that ) a little to make you feel good.
Smile & hug your quilts, they hug back with love & warmth !
