I Have Taken A Break From Quilting!
I have officially taken a break from quilting for at least the next few weeks. My girls have asked me to make American Girl clothes for their dolls, clothes for their Disney Princess dolls, clothes for their Cabbage Patch dolls, clothes for their Build-A-Bear teddies and clothes for the dolls I made them years ago. So, I'm up to my elbows in tiny pieces of cloth for doll clothes, lol. Let's see if I can survive the next few weeks. :}

I haven't made doll clothes for lots of years. My girls are 46 and 43, I use to sew the clothes and put from Mrs. Claus.
I use to make clothes for GI Joe too, Son is 50. Two Granddaughters didn't play with dolls very much. Now 25 and 19.

I LOVE doll clothes! I kept my DD's Giggles doll when she outgrew it because I'd made some clothes for her. I couldn't find the pattern a few years ago so finally found it on ebay because I want to make more for her. One of the outfits I'd made is a purple corduroy coat and hat and I got her a pair of light purple shoes to go with it!! She has dresses with pinafores and matching panties too! I'd made a bunch of Barbie clothes too and, to my everlasting chagrin, gave them away with the dolls! I learned to knit making a Barbie sweater. Giggles is an 18" doll but I think a bit different measurements than the American Girls--I know her feet are a hair bigger--got a darling pair of bunny ear slippers and they're too small! But I got shoe patterns too so am ready! I need to work on her hair tho cause it's a bit of a mess. My DD is now 53 and I think I was the "doll" person more than she was! I have so many great memories of my own dolls and their clothes. You are going to have a ball and I agree....be sure to show us pics!

I still have some of the Barbie doll clothes I made for my daughter and wonder the same thing....how did I do it? This triggered a memory...remember those shag carpets that had to be raked? It sure was not fun stepping on those tiny plastic high heels hidden in the carpet with bare feet!

I used to make clothes for my kids Cabbage Patch dolls. One Christmas I made PJs for them with matching ones for their CP dolls. Probably made Barbie clothes too. I wish that I had a granddaughter so I had an excuse to buy an American Girl doll and make clothes for it. Like I need more things to do! LOL
