I saw something really cute today but of course didn't have the camera with me. I rode my horse on the beach/dune trails today and with so much rain a lot of the areas are flooded. Had to sit and wait for about 5 minutes for a mamma duck to herd her flock of little ones out of the way. One little guy was lagging behind and really was making a fuss until he caught up with them.

We have 3 diff species of Orioles that visit us each year. One pr is much more orange. There is an Oriole Feeder that has a copper top sort of like an umbrella and then has iron going down into little round holders for 2 glass jelly cups and 2 spear pieces for orange halves. They LOVE Grape Jelly! A company called Duncraft carries them. We have 2 hanging out and have to fill the jelly cups every few days. Have a look at Duncraft.com All kinds of feeders and such.

We can always tell the 1st of March, and sept they come by the thousands heading north, then south. All the birds. Now we have red wings, oreole, tangera's,black birds, woodpeckers, etc. We have some other ones that are smaller, gillions of them, not the tiny ones. They take up 4 streaches of power lines, with 4 lines pr pole. They come down and scoop up water and dunk to drink. We have to ride right through them.Their awesome.Wished I knew what they were.I'm sure their getting rest and feed to head north. We already have babies hatched in our trees. The monarch butterflies will be coming soon from Mexico way headed up north. They too come by the thousands. It's like a blizzard of butterflies.Amazing how they can fly so far.I love this time of year.

The orioles and hummingbirds are usually back by Mothers day. They will drink from the same feeders as the hummingbirds if the holes are big enough. they like grape jelly and I cut oranges in half and fasten them to aomething.I mix water and sugar 3 parts water to 1 part sugar. The coloring in the mixes are nor good for them. Bring it to a boil and allow it to cool.I wash the feeders out each time I refill it.
