There is a cricket in the wall between my sewing area and the water heater closet. It has been chirping 24 hours a day for 2 days now. I've been trying to ignore it but this morning it's driving me crazy. I have to go outside just to get a break from the noise. I've banged on the wall but it only stops for a second. GRRRR!!!! I don't know how much more I can take!!!

Oh bless your heart, I understand. My one bedroom apartment is on the lower level of the bldg and it overlooks a dense forest.....the down side is that my apartment attracts crickets...not just crickets but those great big crickets that look like spiders and jump around. I've sprayed the entire apartment with Ambro something another,I'm sorry, but I'm not a cricket hugger ! SO, the little pests have taken to sitting outside my front door and screeching for hours and hours, especially during the night. I've tried turned the porch light on, not turning it on, spraying out there but they still do it.
I have no answers but I understand. It is sort of like when you notice a neighbor's dog is barking and barking and barking.......

I googled the lifespan of the cricket.
copy/pasted:
Crickets only live a few weeks. The crickets hatch from eggs laid in the ground in the spring or early summer, and are adults within about 3 months. They breed and then lay their eggs in late summer. They then die of old age or will freeze if the temperature lowers to 32 degrees. Incidently the the higher the temperature gets the more a cricket chirps. http://mathbits.com/MathBits/TISecti...linearREAL.htm
Try turning on your airconditioner if you have one and maybe he'll quiet down...lol.

I did the search and destroy that's how I know it's in the wall. I also sprayed but no luck getting it.
It's nice and cool both inside an outside but apparently it's nice and warm in the wall.
