This is a picture of him and his family after he won the Indianiapolis 500 earlier this summer. Dan is holding Sebastian alongside wife Susie holding Oliver, with the Borg Warner Trophy on the yard of bricks

just heard it on the news. We are not big race car fans, so I really don't follow the races. It is sad

I'm involved with the racing world and I don't know how many times I've stopped breathing when they hit that wall. I was watching the race today and I was on my floor sobbing being an ER trauma nurse I knew his chances were slim to make it out of it without anything less than severe burns and bones broken. This was an amazing man, husband, father, brother and a son.

This should have never have happened these cars are not meant to be on a track like Vegas, there not designed to be run on high banking turns this is a NASCAR track. The driver's expressed their concerns prior to the race a lot of them didn't want to do this race. The ironic thing that most don't know is he was working on a safer car design for 2012 series, he had gotten a full time ride, and he was so excited about the new safety measures (they might have saved his life today). He leave's behind a beautiful wife and two small children in the photo.

Another angel got their wings in heaven today, I know most probably don't follow racing, but I do ask if everyone would keep his family in their prayers tonight he truly was a wonderful man.
