The race world lost an amazing driver this afternoon at LasVegas International Speedway. Dan Wheldon lost his life today in a 15 car pile up on the 13th lap of the last race of the season. He leaves behind his parents, 3 brothers a sister, a wife and two young sons.
Ironically he had just finished the final testing for a new, safer car that is to be unveiled in the 2012 Indy season.
RIP Dan, the whole racing community and all of your fans will miss you greatly.

So sad ... they make it look too easy and maybe we forget how very dangerous racing really is. RIP

At least he died doing what he loved. There are not many people that are that lucky. He will be missed.

Very sad news, indeed. RIP Dan Wheldon. Prayers for his family. Once again, we are reminded that lives can change in an instant.
