Default Janome Memory Craft 3000

Well I am afraid I killed my loyal 18 yr old machine. This machine has never had a problem and has been serviced on a regular basis but, yesterday I had the opportunity to finally get some sandwiching done for 3 quilts that I have had ready for this over 6 months. Well I was finishing a backing and my machine quit. I checked the plugs and as I touched the wire, my husband decided he could splice it about 2 yrs ago, and where he had that splice popped and smelled like something burnt.
I am afraid that it ruined the machine because even though it plugs into a power strip.

Thanks for listening to my sad story.

Isn't your loyal old machine worth having new cord attached?? I'd certainly speak to the people who have serviced it over the years. Can't imagine that it would be terribly expensive...worth it in the long haul.

Yes and that is the first thing we will try but I have to get to my service people to get that done. I am more than willing to buy a new cord IF it did not damage the computerized machine.

Wehave an up and running machine. I think but not sure that even though the cord was good the machine had to reset itself. Anyhow I thank the Lord for it running.

I love my Memory Craft 3000. It just purrs. I haven't had it but about 12 years, buy it's a work horse. See if someone can resurrect it. Good luck.

So glad it's okay. Buying a new machine can be so confusing.
