After much searching, I found the tutorial for this bag. The maker makes small bags so a stiff interfacing is all that is needed. But I have seen other crafters use the plastic from milk jugs to add stability to the bags, especially in the bottom. It will be interesting to see what others advise.

I have made many, many bags, large and small. We had some left over 1/4 inch plywood. (I think it's called luan) I made a template of the purse bottom, my husband cut out a piece of this wood and sanded the edges. I covered this thin wood with matching fabric. I can carry anything in my bags and they won't droop. This liner adds minnimal weight. I put it in the bottom of every purse I've made.

I buy plastic squares in the craft (for crewel work and such) area and cut them up for bag bottoms.
