Something on the life plan diet that my mom went on and lost over 100 pounds in a year, yes a year, was that the lettuce should not be head lettuce but Romaine and leaf lettuce. It is richer in vitamins and causes the body to burn the fat. Just a thought to add to your info.

Also, I will look less hippy doing this with you gals than I do in my photo. My daughters helped me find a dress that complimented my wider bottom half. Also the gals at the store said that when you pose for a photo like that, you need to rest your hand just below your waist line so you do look slimmer instead of accentuating the wrong place. Now when this works with you gals supporting me, i think I need to take another photo in my daughter's dress so I show off the wonderful success. Sounds like a plan. Now to execute. Ad the A Team would say, "I love it when a plan comes together".

Hi Ladies, so far being careful with stress eating. DD gets married on Saturday in the front lawn at the farm. Can't believe I have so much yet to do. I did finish my table runners, nothing fancy but in her purple color. I'll be away from my computer until next week. Pray for dry weather and the the rest will fall into place. Saw the nurse at the pain clinic yesterday and she gave me a pep talk on letting others help out. So I asked some of my friends to help with the food and they can share in the day with me. So glad I took that advise. I'll tell you all about it next week.

countrymaid I am sure your daughter will have a lovely wedding. You will be able to rest some after it is over, but enjoy it all while it is happening. They go by so fast. Share some pics with us when you can.

Our May winner is Beachbound with 8 lbs lost. Congrats. Every little pound lost is one less to carry around.

Weddings are so much fun! (let's not talk about how much work they are)
Congrats Dody! Two pounds a week is just what is recommended. You are doing it right.
Well, hubby is home. The company is closing their Minnesota branch. He has a job until Aug 3 but doesn't have to go to work so at least he has the summer off. Hopefully he can find another job fairly soon. There are 2 companies here in our town that are possibilities except that he has worked for both of them and quit so who knows if they will hire him back. We are/were planning to remodel our master bath this fall. That may have to be put on hold but that certainly won't be the end of the world. At least I haven't ordered anything for it yet. I was very close to doing that!
I did Zumba this morning and have eaten only healthy things today. So far, so good! It really helps to have my sister here and we can encourage each other. She is going to make gf brownies today that have black beans.

Beachbound I left my congrats on May thread, but now another Congratulations!!!! here too. It feels great doesn't it?

I did good today. Haven't remembered to eat much today. That is a first. lol... Big thing though is even with things going on, I just came in from working in my flower garden. Wow! Such a bunch of weeds, but now I am beginning to see all my perennials blooming that I planted last year.

I also have some wonderful mint growing and looking beautiful that a person on the board sent me last year. I love mint in both cold and hot tea.

I also finally have my cat scan for my neck and spine scheduled for this Thursday. I am so happy about that. Cindy, that morning I will send in my fat/skinny quarter.

One more thing: I seen a recipe I want to try for a low calorie desert.-- In long pan, box of sugar free cake mix, or 2 small boxes of the jiffy cake mix. After it's poured in then on top of that sugar free vanilla pudding, then on top of that layer of strawberries, then a layer of the sugar free glaze, and top all that off with cool whip. The only part of this recipe that isn't sugar free is the cool whip. Chill in the refrigerator until it is good and set. Enjoy!!

JuneBillie, I must assume you pour the pudding and fruit after the cake is baked? Sounds stupid, I know, but there are some desserts where the cake is not baked.
Oh, congratulations to you Dody - great job!!

Default Wow!

Thank you! That is a lot of really great info. Makes really good sense! I would just like to add that for myself I try to address the issue of yeast. It causes me a lot of bloating. I try to follow the Candida Diet as closely as possible; because it is so restrictive I adjust it accordingly. I drink Pao D'Arco tea and use grapeseed extract (the liquid form) and I love to put it in my steel cut oats. What I have come to realize but am still trying to accept is that for me sugar is poison. I only use organic stevia which is somewhat expensive but I found it to be most helpful when I need sweet. I am really enjoying this site for so many reasons; the positivity is phenomenal! Thanks for all the wonderful insight ! Everyone have a GREAT day and much weight loss success!!
