On another forum I was on, we had a "RAK (Random Act of Kindness) Wish List" and I thought that might be something we could do here.

Here is how it works:

Everyone makes a wish list of things they would like to have, fabric, magazine, thread, sewing notions or anything reasonable and if somoneone else has anything on the list they just mail it to them without them expecting it.

The Admin. would need to set up a page where we could post our names and addresses, one where members could view it, not visitors.

It was alot of fun to do and people would get these RAK's and it was exciting to get something unexpectedly in the mail.

Just a thought.

and those who got nothing would feel horrible.

and some of those who gave, and gave, and gave but didn't get the same amount back would be dissapointed.

and some would expect everything and give nothing.

sorry to be a wet blanket but this is not a good idea in a group this huge.

it's very easy to be generous, though. all you have to do is "listen" to what's already posted. you'll easily find people you can help with RAKs.

Also if you look in the classifieds section you will see ppl on there looking for certain items and ppl looking to give away items too. Basically we have been doing something similar to this for some time. I am always looking there to see if I have something someone needs.
