Kindle, Nook or Kobo

I really want to get one of these for Christmas but I am not sure which one would be best for me when I live in Canada. I want to get one that will actually read the book to me. Can anyone advise me?

None of them actually read the book to you in a way that you could enjoy. Audio books on tape is the best way. Get a really good Tape reader and rent the books on tape from the library or B&N, Borders, etc.

My dil has started renting books from BookSwim. I think it may be associated with netflix. I personnally like to go to the library. I'm by books like I am by fabrics I guess. I like to look at the covers, flip thru the pages. I get 5 or 6 at a time, and I don't feel badly about dumping one if it doesn't catch my fancy within the first few chapters (or when I realize that I've already read it). I try to find new works by old favorites and I try to pick up at least one author I've not read before and one classic.

I had wondered about the readers. I am glad to know it's not something I would like. I like books on tape if there is a good reader.
We have talked about getting a kindle or nook but are waiting for the price to come down more. :D

If you just want audiobooks, I would go with an Audible subscription (or some other audio bookclub). I love my audiobooks, but a great reader is essential to the experience! My Kindle's reader just does not do a book justice. At all. I will never use that function. I can't imagine it's much better on another device.

My Kindle won't download books at our cottage in Canada. It's a first generation Kindle so maybe the later ones will but I know when I bought mine, they said it could only download in the US.
