Look who I met today

Dorothy,(Dot10932) is on holidays from the States and came to Canberra, Australia. We had a great day talking and looking at the gorgeous flowers on display at Floriade, our annual spring flower fesival. We couldn't have asked for better weather, nice and warm and sunny.
She met up with Rainy Day and others from Melbourne last week and she will soon be off to Sydney to look up some more members.
It was really fun to actually meet someone from here, I hope I can do it again someday.

How nice to have met a fellow board member - I thought I would manage to do that in August at the UK Festival of Quilts, but I didn't find her.
I remember the Floriade when I went to Canberra in 1988, I have a feeling it might have been the first, because I was told that a lot of the bulbs had been supplied by The Netherlands as part of the 200 years celebrations. Apparently the bulbs had to be conditioned so that they flowered in your springtime, rather than a Northern Hemisphere springtime.
