Hi...this is not a quilt, but thought you might be interested in seeing it. I made this 38 yrs. ago from professional tread spools. At least that's what I was told. It is quite fragile now so not sure how many good years it has left. I just glued the spools (which are not wood) together to make the tree, spray painted it, stuck in lights from the back and cotton balls in all the wholes. It has had numerous decorations over the years, just because of the way it was stored. But at this point, I'm just leaving it alone now. Hope you enjoy.

That is sooooo cool. Maybe you could put it in a plexi glass container to perserve it....wow what a creative mind you have....

After I posted this picture I immediately went to my threads. Had to check to see what thread comes on now. Haven't really paid attention. I have 3 that have larger card board innerd's like these. Then the rest are plastic, but smaller. I guess they could be made out of either. Not sure what long arm thread comes on. But I'll have to start saving them all. Oh my DH will love that LOL.
