is it just me or are there a LOT more ads in magazines these days? You used to be able to read several pages of an article, now some of them are text, ad, text, ad, an ad on every other page. And the worst are the 4 page ads for prescription drugs. Do they really need to give me that much info before I even ask my doctor about it?

There definitely are more ads in magazines. Also, there are so many drugs advertised on tv. The funny thing about tv is that if you listen to end of the commercials and all of the side effects, you don't want to take the drug.

As for the prescription ads - who goes to a doctor and requests meds based on magazine ads? I just don't understand.

they used to have one drug ad on TV, I SWEAR, they did NOT tell you what the drug was for. Just 'ask your doctor'.

The drug companies are helping to keep the magazines in business. Think what you would have to pay for a subscription if they didn't have the drug companies paying for all that exposure. Paper is expensive, and with all the internet business I am sure magazines are struggling to stay afloat.

And on top of all the ads, they want more money for fewer issues!
