Military families?

I was just wondering how many of our members have family members serving in Afghanistan or Iraq at this moment? My SIL is shipping out next week for Afghanistan. This will be his second deployment. First one to Iraq a few years ago. He leaves behind a wife and 3 young sons.

I have a son in law that has been in the "giant litter box" 3 times. Hubby was supposed to go, but his orders got pulled. Son in law will be headed back sometime in the near future, don't know when. I have TONS of "sons" that have just come back or are on their way.

My daughter got home from Iraq a year ago. She served in Afghanistan 3 years ago as well, she is Army Reserve.
My son is in the Navy, currently stationed in San Diego
My husband served 20 years in the Navy, retired 9 years ago. He was in the first Desert Storm.

My Grand son came back from two tours in lovely Club Iraq, and some of his injuries from an exploding Hummer left him a civilian.
My nice SIL came back also from The Sandy Arm Pit of the World, two tours, but retired after over 21 years or so. Son was Navy and got to go with National Guard to bad areas with medical teams, says he is very, very glad to have been born an American.
Masses of second cousins and nephews are now military, we can never be at ease till they all come home again.

my son in law has served 4 tours in iraq and has his orders for afghanistan next; each time he goes he leaves behind my daughter and 3 daughters of their own...it is always very very hard on all 4 girls. my youngest son enlisted this past summer, so far (as far as i know, he could be trying to spare me stress)he has not yet been ordered to go there.
everytime sil goes it about kills me; last time he came home injured (roadside bomb/tank accident) had back surgery...but they fixed him well enough to send him back again. i am so tired of it all!
i make quilts, participate in every function that comes up...it is never enough...
